J'ai commencé la deuxieme semaine.

j'ai commencé la deuxieme semaine. it has been still a real challenge. i felt that my language ability is still not enough, especially in Chinese. That's why director Donovan keeps telling us that the trick is to work on our language A.

In today's lesson Français-Chinois I still confronted difficulties for the lack of confidence in understanding French. I felt what's more difficult for me is to transmit my message in Chinese in a less mechanic way. However, what madame Laplace insists today is not the content that we translate, but the vivalité and conviction in what we say. It would be great not to emit the details but that is not really the point of practise at this moment.

In Perfectionnement Linguistique, mme Fernado gave us some useful sites of internet, occasions of conference, and TV programs to make use of.

My dinner is rice with scrambled egg to go with dried vegetable seasoning. For the drink I had a bottle of tomato juice.

早餐則是奇異果,半條香蕉,四片全麥麵包,還有一杯拿鐵。星期一到五早晚餐宿舍都有提供。
The residence where I stay offers breakfast and dinner. However, as I eat only vegetables now there is not much choice for the dinner. Mother has been very concerned with my nutrition and requires that I stopped this vegetable-only diet. She asked sister the experienced nurse to persuade me to eating at least fish to gain efficient energy for the brain and heart to function. At the moment since I have both breakfast and dinner, I pretty much 'debrouille' for the lunch and the meals of the weekend. Like today my brunch consisted of a kiwi, half a banana, four pieces of wholemeal toast and a cafe latte.

Paris nuit blanche

Today I and a friend went to a festival in Paris called Paris Nuit Blanche. In English that means 'white night' therefore it's 'night in the daylight'. Since in Taiwan at this moment we celebrate the moon festival for its brightness and form, it is quite reasonable that here they chose this day to light up the city into the night for some artistic and commercial activities.

THis year the areas that join this venue include the quartier chatelet-marais, Latin et Buttes-chaumont. Metro line 11 and 14 operate all night. We only get to go around in the Chatelet-Marais region and we get to see one artistic work at the Notre Dame.

When I got home around 11 pm there were still quite a lot of people taking metro. But I see some of them looked weary, like me, since it is quite difficult to be still active at this hour when normally you are prepared to go to bed. But like my friend said, it's a reason for people to go out in the night to party and to get closer to art. Indeed besides the huge screen hanging in front of the hotel de ville, other works are shown on the screens 'hidden behind the trees or outside of a window of a second floor room. I am generally happy with this program only wish they have more venders for warm food and perhaps passing out sweet wines to passer-bys. But that would be more like Christmas festivity.
